Hearing in the suit filed against the Nigeria Police and others by the Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dickson Akoh has suffered another setback due to none service of court processes between the plaintiff and the defendants. In the fundamental rights enforcement suit, the plaintiff is demanding 2 billion naira damages against the Nigerian Police and others for alleged rights violations.
The hearing of fundamental rights enforcement suit against the Nigerian police and others could not go on as scheduled due to legal technicalities. When the case was mentioned for hearing, counsel representing the police, Peter Igbodo informed the presiding judge, Justice Gabriel Kolawole that he just learnt of the case in court. He said that he came to court for another matter, only to be confronted with the court processes.
Igbodo pleaded for time to respond to the application saying that his attention was drawn to the development that court processes were served on the police, but that he was never informed.
