Governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Imo, Uche Nwosu yesterday, Friday, flagged off his campaign for the March 2 guber election with a pledge to mobilize votes for President Muhammadu Buhari's re-election come February 16th Presidential pool.
Nwosu, the immediate past Chief of Staff to the Government of Imo state at his flag off held at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri was attended by a crowd of supporters and party faithful across party line.
Others are representatives of other political parties such as the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), the Reform Nigeria Party (RNP), Democratic Alternative (DA), and other 22 political parties who adopted Nwosu as their choice candidate for the governorship election.
Addressing the crowd, Nwosu drummed support for President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress while asserting that he had no grievances with the president. He called on his supporters to vote for the AA during the governorship and state House of Assembly elections and the APC during the February 16 presidential election.
Rolling out his manifesto, the youthful and most popular candidate pledged to consolidate on Governor Okorocha’s achievements, adding that his youthfulness and experience while working under the Okorocha- led administration gave him an advantage over other candidates.
He said: “I have come to work in Imo and to consolidate on the governor’s achievements just the same way President Buhari is coming to consolidate on his giant strides.“ I urge you to support the AA in Imo and the APC at the presidential election. My experience and pedigree as well as my youthfulness are assets we need in Imo at this stage of our development.”
High points of the event were the handing over of the party’s flag to Nwosu, 2 Senatorial Candidates, 3 House of Representatives Candidates and over 23 House of Assembly candidates by the party’s national chairman, Kenneth Udeze and presentation of cheque of #One_Million_Votes to President Muhammadu Buhari by the incoming Governor, Uche Nwosu.
